Pure Barre’s 10th Anniversary is Equal Parts Business Milestone and Community Celebration

Pure Barre at Hawthorne Plaza marks its 10th anniversary this year, and it’s as much a community milestone as it is a business achievement. When you think about all the fitness and exercise trends that have come and gone over the past decade, it’s Pure Barre that has stood the test of time (and a pandemic).

A message posted on Pure Barre’s Instagram page perhaps explains the studio’s longevity and popularity best. “Remember, when you walk into Pure Barre, you are not being judged for your fitness level, your brand of leggings or even how your hair looks. You’re walking into a room where an entire group of people are cheering for you to get stronger with every tuck, pulse and lift. Zero judgment at this barre.”

Zero judgment, highly trained instructors, and an effective total-body workout are what appeal to Pure Barre’s clients, some of whom have been attending classes at the Hawthorne Plaza studio since it opened.

Kelsey (Nicholson) Sniegowski

Kelsey (Nicholson) Sniegowski started at Pure Barre’s Hawthorne Plaza studio as an instructor. Four years ago, she became the owner. Kelsey says, “Our approach to building flexibility, balance and strength works. People come for the workout, but stay for the community. We reach and celebrate milestones together. Gyms can be stressful, and you’re left to figure out a routine that works best for you on your own. But, our clients enjoy group fitness and being guided through the class.”

Pure Barre is for Anyone, Really
Pure Barre is a barre workout that transforms the body physically and mentally. Musically-driven classes feature low-impact, high-intensity movements that strengthen and tone in 50 minutes or less. “We hear, ‘I need to be in shape to do barre.’ But, that’s a myth. It’s for everyone at whatever fitness level they are—runners, those with rheumatoid arthritis, people recovering from injury,” says Kelsey.

If you’re new to Pure Barre, a free Foundations Intro class is the perfect place to start. The 50-minute session is taught in a small group setting where a Pure Barre teacher introduces you to the basic movements at a slower pace. You’ll learn how the technique works and start to feel the benefits in less than an hour.

Affordable, Effective Group Fitness
“Our studio is one of the ‘OGs’ because Pure Barre is effective, and we keep our prices affordable. You can purchase 8 classes per month for $99 and unlimited classes per month for $149,” says Kelsey. “For our 10th anniversary celebration, we’re holding a free pop-up, outdoor class on June 18th at 8:30 a.m. We’ll also offer $10 drop-in classes throughout the week.” Reserve your spot at $10 Anniversary Class and use the promo code: 10YEAR.
